Comfortable and Relaxing, Close to Major Attractions.

My guest room was very comfortable, from the bed to the chairs. The standard guest rooms are standard size, but the rooms are well furnished and the bathroom was elegant, clean and came with an assortment of hair and personal hygiene products. The main lounge area between the lobby and Atrium is a great "extended room." Big comfy chairs. A nice place to invite friends to to sit on the plush couches and chairs to talk, have a drink (although expensive drink - $9 for a Jack Daniels on the rocks - though you are not obligated to buy drinks from the lobby bar) or watch tv on the large screen tv. Although the food and drinks at the in-house restaurants and Harry's Saloon can be expensive, the quality of the food and service was Fabulous. The Woodley Park neighborhood is walking distance to the Zoo and the Metro to downtown and the Mall is literally right next to the hotel. But I like to stay in the quaint neighborhood for Sake Club's sushi and the drink specials at the Indian restaurants. At night I walked to Adams Morgan for its awesome nightlife, but I actually like Cleveland Park's bars more - Ireland's Four Provinces for Guiness and the Park Bench pub was a very cool place to watch Saturday college football (go PSU!). If you have a friend who lives in the neighborhood/area (which I did) you can stay in a standard guestroom for only $89 per night! But the weekender rate was only $99! Considering the majority of museums and all of the memorials are free to visit, that's was really the only major cost to my weekends in DC - aside from my food and bar hopping ;0)
