A Little New Jersey Jewel
Review From: Michael, Jun 9, 2008
A long time ago, my wife and I stopped vacationing in big, fancy hotels, and starting searching out little gems like The Star Inn. We both love Cape May, and when we discovered The Star Inn, we felt like we'd found our perfect vacation home. It's a pretty yellow building with nine suites, 10 efficiencies, and two larger condos. We always stay in an efficiency. They're very well-designed, and the big, fluffy beds are like sleeping on a cloud. My wife and I both love to curl up alongside the beautiful pool each day, as we get caught up with our reading. We sometimes rent chairs and an umbrella and read by the sea. There are a lot of nice restaurants and shops nearby, and Cape May is the ideal strolling town. There are no elevators in this hotel, though. That means we always reserve a room on the first floor, because my wife has had numerous hip surgeries and taking the stairs to the second floor would be too hard on her. The staff of the hotel goes out of its way to ensure we feel welcome there. They have great amenities, like a wonderful bakery with free pastries and coffee for guests. No big hotel chain does that for you.
