I have had the pleasure of staying at the Prince George Hotel on over 20 occasions for both pleasure and business, and I always become back because of one key factor - the service is excellent! The staff is polite and friendly and their attention to detail will leave a smile on your face. I would like to mention the wonderful concierge Ivan Boyd. He is one of a few select winners of the coveted Pineapple Award for outstanding service in the Hospitality Industry. He took care of the small stuff that made my daughter feel special - from the Aunt Jeminia syrup for her pancakes to the pool noodles for her swim time. He booked tours of Halifax to entertain my wife and child while making sure that a car was waiting to take me to my meetings, and suggesting the best little diner for breakfast. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. There is an internet connection for the business traveler and a desk by the window with a phone for getting down to business. I like the turndown service and water on the nightstands also. The pool is clean and large and empty much of the day. My family enjoyed playing while I was in meetings, and I enjoyed swimming in the evenings. There is a sauna, weight room and Jacuzzi available also, and the pool opens onto the terrace where you can bask in the sun and enjoy a drink. The morning buffet is excellent, I love the omelets and the restaurant served an incredible supper. The PG is central to all of Halifax; you can see five restaurants out of the window, so there is lots of variety. Note: always ask for a harbor view and you will truly enjoy your stay. We are looking forward to our next visit with the staff at the PG and believe you will enjoy it also.
