Luxury Living in Premier Location
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
Sitting directly across Chicago's historic water tower lies the Peninsula Chicago, the first Midwest location of the luxury Peninsula hotel group. The lavish lobby takes advantage of the hotel's prime location with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views of North Michigan Avenue. The 339 guest rooms and suites feature soothing décor in the colors of gold and white mixed with honey. High-tech amenities include high-speed Internet access and a "command station" to control the room's lights, temperature, and curtains. A two-floor fitness center offers the latest exercise equipment as well as a pool and spa. Four full-service restaurants provide a variety of dining options, but guests would be wise to save room for dessert at the "Chocolate Bar." Served only on weekends, this elegant dessert buffet features all-you-can-eat cookies and sweets and its specialty - chocolate soup. While the Peninsula Chicago offers top-notch service and amenities, the noise level could be an issue. Even with double-paned windows, street noise from busy North Michigan Avenue does seep into rooms.
