We requested a room on a non-smoking floor because I am allergic to cigarette smoke. The hotel rented all the rooms around ours to smokers despite the non-smoking designation on all of the doors. The end result was that I became ill and we didn't stay the second night that we'd hoped to. I've never had an experience like this before... I wish that the hotel policy would have forewarned us about their option to offer the non-smoking rooms to smokers whenever they please.
