Fun Amusement Park but Far from the Strip
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
Located at the north end of the Strip, the Stratosphere Tower is away from the main Vegas action but provides plenty of entertainment on its own premises. The 1,149 feet tower, the tallest west of the Mississippi, is home to the High Roller - the world's highest roller coaster. Two other thrill rides, the Big Shot and X-Scream, are also located at the top of the Stratosphere. The tower features observation decks to check out the fantastic Vegas views. A revolving restaurant, Top of the World, also provides 360-degree panoramic views high above the city. Gambling guests will enjoy the 97,000-square foot casino while kids can play at the arcade and ride the children's Ferris wheel and roller coaster. The 2,444 guest rooms and suites are modest and include all the basic amenities. The décor is subdued with a purple haze and light-wood furniture. Rates are reasonably low due to the hotel's out-of-the-way location.
