International Hotel in Mideast Oasis

"Yemen's history goes back thousands of years to Biblical record, and its scenery of mountaintops and green lands far before that. The capital city of Sana'a sits on a mountain plateau about 2,200 meters above sea level, a position that affords views of the Arabian peninsula. The Sheraton, one of the few hotels, has an even more elevated view atop a hill. It takes a modern business approach, even as the noise from the nearby traditional bazaar filters in and lures guests to explore.
In today's political climate, many of the Western guests who come to Yemen tend to be businesspeople. The Sheraton deliberately makes this hotel international, everything from the music to the food. European furnishings outfit the hotel, which has 276 rooms and suites. Several ethnic restaurants are on-site and a bar with city views. Other amenities include a fitness center, pool, sauna, tennis court, and a stunning garden. Naturally, with so many business folks coming here, the hotel offers business services and meeting facilities. The diverse multilingual staff offers prompt and efficient service.
The relatively remote locale is about a 10-minute drive (usually cab ride) to the old city. Limited airport transport is available, as is entry visa assistance. The U.S. Embassy lies about a third of a mile away. American visitors should definitely check out advisories at the Bureau of Consular affairs before scheduling trips, and check in with the embassy during the trip. "
