Substandard standard

Returned to my native country after a 15 yr absence and decided to sample one of "the best hotels".$289 for a room?? Fine.Paid up and checked in (relatively painless).The room however was a disappointment.A flat mattress with worn out linen,old chipped furniture(as in deep gouges),a no-working ancient telephone,shaky bathroom fixtures,brown water from the faucets(it stayed brown),worn out towels that literally tore as I stretched them,dead TV remote,Stained windows,cold Jollof rice from room service,let me stop there... I kept repeating to my self"they call this place a Sheraton?????" Checked out the next day and moved across town to the (somewhat better ) Meridien.On my way out I noticed a plaque next to the registration desk that read "Hotel of the year(or something like that) for 1989." That figures.
