Great Resort that Caters to Business
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
With its prime location in downtown San Diego right next to the Convention Center and Seaport Village, the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina is an ideal place for business and leisure travelers alike. This two-tower hotel stands at the water's edge facing the Embarcadero, providing beautiful views of the San Diego Bay. It is located just 10 minutes away from the airport and the historic Gaslamp Quarter and Horton Plaza are within walking distance. The hotel features 1,362 guest rooms, many with panoramic views of the city or bay. The rooms are decorated in a nautical theme to complement its marina location. Ergonomic chairs and high-speed Internet access are provided in each room. Business facilities include an executive center and 110,000 square feet of meeting space including conference rooms, boardrooms, and an exhibit hall. Guests can relax in the hotel's two free-form lagoon pools surrounded by palm trees or in its Jacuzzis and saunas. Six lighted tennis courts and a state-of-the-art fitness center are also available. Because the Marriott caters to business travelers mostly, the feel of the hotel could be impersonal. The passing trains located near the hotel can also provide unwanted noise at night.
