Home of Minnesota¿s Largest Indoor Water Park
Review From: rudnak, Jun 9, 2008
Formerly known as the Grand Rios Indoor Water Park Resort, the Ramada¿Minneapolis Northwest is still the home of ¿Minnesota¿s Largest Indoor Water Park.¿
Grand Rios boasts a four-story water slide, a 535-foot lazy river, and all of the usual fun one expects at a large-scale water park. It also features private spas and ¿game¿ pools for sports such as basketball.
When a hotel is best known for its on-site activities (such as being the state¿s largest indoor water park), it shouldn¿t be difficult to predict what to expect: package deals geared for guests that stay and play, often with their families.
With that said, room and dining expectations should be just as predictable: familiar, safe, clean, and the standard amenities...and maybe a few bucks more than what one would pay elsewhere for similar quality.
Travelers¿ reports seem to reflect this notion. Those that think they are going to get an exotic, five-star experience will be sorely disappointed. However, those that are seeking all of the fun and convenience that the Ramada¿Minneapolis NW offers¿while reducing expectations about cutting-edge decor and cuisine¿will find they are in good hands.
Located in Brooklyn Park, a Minneapolis suburb about 10 minutes from downtown and a half-hour from the Minneapolis¿St. Paul International Airport, the Ramada¿Minneapolis may not be the best choice for business travelers, the extremely budget-conscious, or those looking for a romantic getaway. As for families looking for a splish-splashin¿ good time: dive right in!
