Convenient Vancouver Location but Small Rooms
Review From: editorialreviews@nextag.com, Jun 9, 2008
"The Ramada Inn and Suites Downtown Vancouver is located in a convenient but gritty neighborhood within easy walking distance of all of the city's main attractions. The Orpheum Theater is only three blocks from the hotel and the Queen Elizabeth Theatre is five blocks away. Other nearby attractions include Granville Public Market, Science World, Chinatown, the financial district, and B.C. Place Stadium. Shoppers will enjoy the easy access to fashionable shops on Robson Street. Guests can also easily visit Yaletown, Granville Island, or Kitsilano.
The hotel's historic 1906 building houses 119 guest rooms. These rooms are small and cluttered but adequate for a good night's sleep. The art-deco decor with its burgundy, gold, and beige undertones brings about a retro feel to the rooms. Dark mahogany furnishings and watercolor paintings add to the effect. All rooms include cable television, climate control, coffeemakers, and hair dryers. Irons and ironing boards are also available. Internet access, including wireless, is complimentary. As this is an older hotel, the floors sometimes squeak and the walls lack proper insulation. Noise from other rooms as well as the street can often be heard.
The hotel does not have its own fitness center, but guests have free access to a 24,000-square-foot health club located one block from the hotel.
Overall, if room size is not a concern, the Ramada Inn and Suites Downtown Vancouver is a convenient and inexpensive stay."
