Roach Motel, move over
Review From: Teresa, Jun 9, 2008
Checked in at 7:12pm, drove to our room, opened the door to our "non-smoking" room and immediately hit by the smell of old cigarettes. Dead flys on the dirty quilts and about 16 flys were buzzing around our heads, not to mention the squashed one, complete with fly-blood smear trailing from his dead carcus across the top of the television. The floor was not vacuumed and had crumbs and possibly sheetrock shavings all over it. The bathroom...two words, black mold. The toilet was un-useable.. gross. Plus, you had to jiggle the bathroom switch to get the light to go on. (Don't think that's in the fire code.) I peeled back the sheet to check (as I always do)... sure enough, hair in the sheets, on the pillow, etc. We walked back to the lobby because I did not want to stay, period. (I would not trust them to have a clean room, by their standards.) We walked back into the lobby at 7:25. The blonde woman at the front desk became almost instantly cold and rude. She kept insisting we take another room. Well, by the time she was done trying to argue with us, 5 minutes had passed and this is when she says to us, "Well, we have to charge you for the room because you've been in it longer than 15 minutes." So my husband asked for a corporate number. She gives him the number for herself...at the front desk. She then finally calls a manager..with me standing there, she turns her back to me and starts lying into the phone, tells him we were in the room for over twenty minutes, that there were a few flys in the room...that's it. Finally, after a half hour, the manager, who never showed up, tells her to let us go without charge but she is pissed and it shows when she slams the bill up on the counter. By the way, the lobby was gross as well, and no way I would have fed my kids anything that came out of the gross little nook where it looks like they set up food for breakfast.
