The "Kids Suite" Great for My Family's Needs

I've read a lot of reviews for the Portofino Inn, and some of them make me laugh. What do people expect from a moderately priced hotel near Disneyland, The Ritz? This is an excellent, basic hotel that caters to families. Its Family Suites are great. A king bed in one bedroom, then a bunk bed and a pull-out sofa in the next. All for the same price other hotels charge for one room with two queen beds. We bought a transit pass to Disneyland, which gave us one week of shuttle rides to Disneyland for $12 per adult and free for kids. The Portofino's pool is nice, with lots of lounge chairs. And the Jolly Roger's restaurant is fine and dandy, with Kids-Eat-Free lunches and dinners. It's not even fancy, but I'm giving it 4 stars because it is so family-friendly.

Room was old, dirty and several things broken. Hole in carpet and stained. Sofa bed was broken along with ladder on bunk bed and customer service was the worst I have ever received.

Information about the hotel

It's all about suite hotel located across from Disneyland Park. Suite was really clean and had a new carpet. One room cost is about $79. Rooms are clean and very nice. Deluxe room was having sofa sleeper, microwave. It's really a nice place to visit.

Review regarding the services of the hotel...

Portofino Inn and Suites is a nice hotel with sufficient services provided by the hoteliers. It had some advantages like the hotel was clean, the location was good, the staff was friendly as well as hospitable. But in comparision of this there were some backdraws also. Like the parking lot was pretty dark at night.

Very clean and great location

We stayed in the kid's suite and was very impressed. The suite was very clean and had new carpet. The housekeeping staff was excellent. Everyday our room was cleaned spotless. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent if you are planning to visit Disney or the Anaheim Convention Center.

Ok for the money

Not bad for a $79 room. Room was nice, clean, and roomy. Had balcony, but door was jammed and would not open. I was a little worried about parking for the night as lot was pretty dark. This hotel has 2 buildings. The main hotel has a front desk clerk. The one we were put in was like an apartment building. The front and back doors remained unlocked all night. We were supposed to be staying in a non- smoking area; however, someone was smoking in the building and we could smell it in our room. This is an ok hotel for the money, but not real friendly service. They really didn't seem to care about anything but getting their money.

do not depend on this hotel...they overbook and do not care...you may arrive and be without a place to sleep or u may end up in a situation where your family cannot be comfortable..WHICH IS HAPPENED TO US...

Great Family Experience

Our Family rented two rooms. One was the Kid's Suite, the second was the two bedroom suite and we loved it. The rooms were clean and very spacious. We didn't feel crammed in at all. The youngest loved the bunks in the Kids Suite and we loved the fact that we could pull the French door shut to have some privacy. Decor was tasteful and not gaudy and there was more than ample bathroom/vanity space for all of us women (1bath and 2 vanities in Kids Suite, 2 baths in 2 bedroom suite.) Disney is across the street and within walking distance so you'll also save on parking and shuttle fees. I would highly recommend.
