Review From: Pam, Jun 9, 2008
We just returned and were not
impressed. There is no coffee in the
hotel except at the cafe attached on
the side. The elevators are slow and
sometimes off at night. The pool
veranda area overlooking the park
closes at 10 pm (great if you are 5).
The bed was slanted, the windows
smudged and the cheap poster lined
hallways covered with stained leopard
print carpet. Even if the prints are
of master pieces and you try to
imagine "it's Avant Garde" it's tough
not to tell yourself that for a few
dollars more you could have stayed next
door at the Hilton. The good things
are: The location with a great view of
Grant Park. The hotel is walking
distance to the orange line for airport
convenience, one block from Buddy Guy's
Blues Club and a few blocks from the
Art Museum, etc. However, so are the
Hilton and lots of other hotels.
As long as you are not expecting too
much you'll do O.K. here. It's really
the city we came to see right? But
when you expect a nice room and get
this it's disappointing. I used to
take my poodles on vacation and stayed
in a few "Red Roof Inns" that were far
nicer.
Oh, and there is internet access in the
lobby as long as you don't mind waiting
your turn.
