A White-Sand, Ocean Paradise that Pays Close Attention to Detail
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
The Outrigger Beach Hotel has 144 guestrooms in two four-story buildings with exterior corridors. There are no elevators, and the guest rooms are located on the second and third floors. Each has a balcony that overlooks the picnic area. My husband and I have been here three times now, and we'll be back. This is a nice, quiet hotel that pays attention to the details. Details like fresh flowers in your room when you arrive - that really makes a difference! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and even the housekeeping staff seems happy to work there. This hotel is on a white-sand beach facing the Gulf of Mexico, and you always can hear the ocean lapping up against the shore in the distance. We really liked the fact that there was a kitchen in our standard room - we went to a local grocery store and stocked up on a few items that made this hotel feel a bit like home. We also loved the Tiki Bar - fun atmosphere, great staff. This was the perfect place for us to escape to from the cold weather of Maine in February. Those white-sand beaches are incredible, and there's nothing better than relaxing in one of the cabanas. As I said, the hotel's attention to detail is fantastic, and its gracious staff makes you feel incredibly welcome. We'll be back - soon, I hope!
