I was very impressed by the view that we had from our room & the staff at checked in were very pleasant. I have a major complaint about The Oakes Hotel and that being the housekeeping service at this hotel was atrocious. When we arrived in our room, the appearance of the room, other that the fact that the cups left for coffee had hair inside them, seemed fine. The next morning after housekeeping came, we noticed the following: -hair once again in the coffee cups (and less cups were left) -no plastic cups for ice drinks left -ice bucket was not cleaned and no bag was left for new ice -coffee pot was left dirty.(I had placed the carafe beside unit & slightly pulled out the filter basket to show her it needed cleaning) -only 1 packet with the coffeemate was left & 1 only 1 Decaff Coffee (I drink regular coffee) -no new rolls of toilet paper were left we almost ran out (and no kleenex) -mold was in our bathroom shower (I find this totally unacceptable) -we had pulled up the blanket on the bed & so she/he from housekeeping just pulled the bedspread up and tucked in the pillows. We didn't realize until we went to get in that the sheets were still the way we left them. I was excited about the weekend and was left with a bad feeling come departure time. I e-mailed the hotel to let them know of what they're housecleaning staff was up to however they obviously don't put too much into customer service as I still haven't heard back from them.Because of that feeling, I would not stay at The Oakes Hotel again, and I certainly would not recommend the hotel to anyone. Next time I'll stay at a more reputable hotel.

I recently stayed at this hotel , and was very happy. We had a room with a view of the falls which was unbelievable and the staff was very helpful. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.
