At These Prices It Should be a Nicer Hotel
Review From: Yvonne, Jun 9, 2008
When my three best friends and I decided to meet for a three-day weekend at the beach, we opted to go to Cape May. One of my friends is a travel agent, and she got us what we thought was a good price for this usually expensive hotel. Our price was still high, but we were optimistic. It sure looks like a great hotel on the web. We ended up getting two fairly small double rooms. They weren't that bad, just not great. We did each have a kitchenette, which was nice. Having a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave meant we didn't have to go out for breakfast or order room service, which can really add up. And this hotel definitely has the best oceanfront view of all the hotels in the area. Our rooms each had a patio that was just fantastic. The beds (our rooms each had two doubles) were comfy, and the bathrooms aren't too small. I know this is a beach town, and that Cape May is a resort, but we really felt like we got "stuck" for the high price. I guess they really think that their great location justifies the high rates. Of course, if we really wanted lower prices, we'd have gone Sunday to Wednesday instead of Thursday to Sunday. Live and learn.
