Spacious Resort With an Older Crowd
Review From: NexTag Editorial Revie, Jun 9, 2008
The Casa Magna Marriott Cancun Resort is a Mediterranean-style resort located in the center of Cancun's busy hotel district. The resort offers a white-sand beach and emerald-green waters right outside its doors. Two miles north is the Cancun shopping district and the convention center. Guests who wish to enjoy water sports may visit the AquaWorld watersports center located one mile away. The 452 guest rooms are spacious and nicely appointed. White ceilings combine with yellow walls and pink marble floors to create a tropical décor rooted in Mexican influences. Rattan furniture and terra-cotta accents complete the look. The beds, covered in gold and cream comforters, are somewhat hard but that is to be expected at most hotels in the area. The hotel's large family pool is located a terrace above the beach along with a children's pool and 25-foot diameter spa tub. Guests can lounge around on the pool's sundecks or play tennis at the resort's two lighted tennis courts. Guests can also use the 35,000-square-foot beauty spa at the JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa, a companion resort that is connected to the hotel by a sky bridge. This companion resort also features a business center with five computers. The resort has an older clientele and is suited for those who wish to avoid the spring-break college crowd in March and early April. Overall, for a quieter, more relaxed stay, the Marriott Casa Magna Cancun Resort is one of the better choices in the hotel district.
