Polynesian-Themed Hotel Frequented by Spring Breakers and Families
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
Located on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort, Panama City Beach is a popular destination for families and Spring Breakers alike. The beachfront hotel features a Polynesian theme that is kitschy enough for college students and exciting enough for kids. Nightly torch-lighting ceremonies are performed at the pool by a "Polynesian Islander." A tiki bar sits by the pool amidst waterfalls, tropical plants, and thatch huts. The hotel features 337 guest rooms and four suites, all with ice-making refrigerators, and microwave ovens. The kidney shape of the building allows all balconies to have views of the beaches below and the gulf. The décor continues the tropical theme with terra-cotta tile floors, wicker furniture, and bright bedspreads. The Holiday Inn SunSpree caters to families with children by offering a free kid's club with supervised activities. Live entertainment that appeals to kids is available seasonally and a children's pool is also available. While this Holiday Inn is ideal for families and college students, those who want a calmer atmosphere might find it a little too lively. The pool area is frequently crowded and at night, there is loud party noise all around. If you don't mind the noise and book during the off season, the Holiday Inn SunSpree is a good choice for exploring Panama City Beach.
