This Holiday Inn Express Needs to Reinvent Itself

Recently I went for a vacation to the Orange Beach area in Alabama. During my visit I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. This beach-facing hotel has an outdoor heated pool, beach-front guestrooms, private balconies, guest laundry, and a fitness room. The rooms of the hotel are clean and have cabinets with a fridge and a microwave. But I did not enjoy my stay as the room where I was put up received no sunlight. It was blocked by a 12 story condo, located nearby my room. This lack of sunlight made the room look depressing. Though the staff of the hotel was more or less friendly and hospitable, they failed to impress me much due to their slow service. The pool of the hotel looked dated and was in a need of renovation. Overall I didn't find my stay there satisfying. I'm sure I'll find better hotels near the beach at competent prices.
