Bavarian-Themed, Family-Oriented Hotel
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
Located in the heart of Frankenmuth, Michigan, The Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge is the largest Bavarian-themed hotel in the country. This family- resort hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants and all things German. The Glockenspiel Tower, with its illuminated clock and 35-bell carillon, is located right outside the hotel. Every hour and quarter hour, guests can watch the moving figurines of the tower come alive as the bells chime. The hotel?s German authenticity extends down to the smallest details. The 360 guest rooms are infused with the histories of the local German settlers. Each room is decorated with a family?s history ? pictures of their home, family members, and baptismal and marriage certificates. But the main attraction, besides German history, is the hotel?s amenities. Being a family hotel catering to kids, the property features five pools, an 18- hole mini golf course, four tennis courts, and a game room that takes up almost the entire ground floor. If a kid-oriented atmosphere is not what you?re geared for, the Bavarian Inn Lodge might not be the best choice. Families with small children, however, will be kept busy for days and have a great time.

Not safe for young children
Review From: Eva Ashor, Jun 9, 2008
What an awful experience! Stay away from this hotel if you are traveling with young children. We have stayed there last Sept.07 while attending friends' wedding. We had a room with a balcony and our older son's head got stuck between the balcony railing (3yrs. old) and both his ears were badly injured. It was a nerve-wracking experience taking turns in guarding the balcony enterence. Our younger one could easily put his whole head (and I believe his whole body) through that railing which is spaced 6 inches apart (!) while today¿s Mich building code requires less then 4. The most disappointing of all is fact that I have contacted Management. about the safety issues and neglectance but I was informed that they do not have any intentions on preventing future accidents. If you care about the safety of your young ones stay away!Room was also dark and gloomy, this hotel sure needs some serious updating.

Top notch service..................
Review From: Gary A. Hammond, Jun 9, 2008
We stay at the Bavarian Inn Lodge about three times a year. We love the location, it is close to everything. The rooms are always spotlessly clean and comfortable. The service is A-1. We could not find our room one of the first times we stayed and we met this male employee in the hall who took the time to show us to our room. We found out before we left that the male employee was Jim Engle the general manager. Now that is good service from the top down. Our home away from home.
