Older Hotel in a Great Location on the Strip
Review From: Michael, Jun 9, 2008
I've been going to Vegas for years, and although a lot has changed, a lot stays the same. It still pulls in the crowds of people who think they're going to make a mint over the weekend. There are just more of them than ever! But it's a fun, bustling, glitzy place, and I love it. I've been staying at the Flamingo off and on since the 1970s. And as much as I like it, the place needs remodeling. The rooms are very average, and the bathrooms are kind of small. The newer hotels really have fantastic rooms and bathrooms. There is so much competition in Vegas now, and so many great deals available that I just don't think you can compete on location alone. The Flamingo's rooms are decent, though, and its beds are comfortable. It's got a garden-like environment called "Habitat" that my wife loves. It is pretty beautiful. Cost-wise, I can always get a good package deal for the Flamingo. But they stick you for everything: Parking, valet, Internet connections, an extra pillow, the spa - you name it. On the plus side, the Flamingo Buffet is fantastic. They really go all out with it. Margaritaville is a lot of fun too. And the pool is beautiful. I love the Flamingo, and will keep going back. I just hope they upgrade their rooms soon. They're showing their age.
