6,800 Acres of Scenic Paradise
Review From: Michael, Jun 9, 2008
My in-laws have been visiting the Eagle Ridge for years, and my wife and I are carrying on the tradition. We try to hold one family event there per year, which lets us get all four generations of our family together in one nice place. And no one has to stress out about cooking. Last year we were all there for the Christmas and New Year's holidays, and we plan to spend Thanksgiving there this year. It's a beautiful resort in a gorgeous setting of hills, rivers, and trees. It is also home to four of the best golf courses I have ever seen. We have a lot of golfers in this family, and those of us who don't golf are big fans of the Stonedrift Spa. (Yes, some of us are fans of both.) Horseback riding is also very big there, and we always have one day set aside for a family trail ride. Last year, we reserved six suites in the Inn, and it was perfect. The food in the Woodland Restaurant was wonderful, and they served us a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. My wife, kids (ages 2 and 4), and I have also stayed in the villas, which are very nice. But they're removed from the main resort facilities, and our kids got a bit restless. But the resort has a lot of kids' activities: Playgrounds, climbing, canoeing, hiking, volleyball, swimming, teen events - there's plenty to do, so no one ever gets bored. We can't wait to go back. This resort brings out the kid in all of us for a few days.
