A More Mature Disney Hotel
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
Located across the street from Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel offers a convenient place to take in the whole Disney experience. Shop in the Downtown Disney District down the street or venture out into Anaheim's many sites and restaurants. The convention center is located two blocks away. The 15-story hotel features 502 guest rooms decorated with framed Disney prints and Disney character bedspreads. The décor, with its eggshell walls and nautical theme, is soothing and understated. The rooms come with armchairs that fold out into single beds to accommodate for extra guests. Cable TV with free Disney Channel (of course) and wake-up calls made by Disney characters are also available. Guests have the privilege of using an exclusive entrance to enter Disney's California Adventure. Another feature is the Minnie and Friends breakfast at the PCH Grill. Although overpriced, kids can enjoy dining with costumed Disney characters. The third-floor rooftop offers a spa tub and outdoor pool where guest can relax and watch Disneyland's nightly fireworks show. A major concern is the slow elevator service. With only four elevators serving a 15-story building, it can take several minutes to wait for an available ride. Another drawback is that this hotel does not actually contain that special Disney atmosphere found in other Disney hotels. The more understated, more mature ambiance may be preferable to some but when you're paying for a Disney hotel, you should get the full Disney effect.

The Full Disney Experience, Full Time
Review From: Angela, Jun 9, 2008
When my husband and I took our 7-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son to Disneyland, we stayed at the Disneyland Resort itself, rather than trying to save money by staying at a hotel in Anaheim and taking shuttle buses back and forth. And we're very glad we did. The Disney Paradise Pier Hotel is right across the street from Disneyland Park, and it's very close to Disney's California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District. We had a big room on the 12th floor, and it faced out onto Disneyland. The view of the Park all lit up at night was spectacular. Our room had two queen beds and a foldout couch, which was perfect. In the bathroom, there were even Mickey soaps, shampoos, and toiletries! It was a great touch. The restaurants in the Disney Paradise were good, but we also spent a lot of time in Downtown Disney, which is a fantastic experience in itself. Not having to take a shuttle bus around made all the difference, and the Disney Paradise Hotel gave us and our children the full Disneyland experience, full time.
