wouldn't honor airline voucher
When my daughter missed a flight connection due to mechanical problems, United gave her a voucher to stay at the Crowne Plaza. The hotel people would not honor the voucher, because she didn't have a reservation. Is this totally ridiculous? NOBODY has a reservation at a hotel under such circumstances. You don't know in advance if you are going to get a voucher as a result of getting bumped off a flight, mechanical problems, etc. My daughter was traveling on orders from the US Air Force and the Crown Plaza was willing to leave her in their lobby all night long, rather than honor the voucher. When I called the hotel, I was forced to wait on hold for an hour before somebody took my name and number. I'm still waiting for the manager to call me back!
