Great South Beach Location, Adequate Accommodations

My girlfriend and I first met in South Beach five years ago. We live in New York City, but try to get back to South Beach every spring. We stay at the Riande because in South Beach, a central location is everything. It's not a fancy hotel by any stretch of the imagination. The rooms are very basic. But it's easy to spend a fortune on lodgings in that town, especially on the beach. We'd rather spend our money on restaurants, clubs, and shopping. That's why the Riande is perfect for us. It is within walking distance from a lot of cool places. The Riande is a great answer to most of our vacation needs.

Its the worst hotel that I stayed in. Horrible experience, very bad service, very bad facilities. I have had to change to another hotel because my vacation was turning on a nightmare.

Never stay at this Hotel

The "No Smoking" hotel reaked of smoke. The receptionist said it was smoking only. No smoking signs were put up half way through the stay. The concierge would not make 1 simple phone call for us-she left for the day 1min. later. The bar charges a different price every day. The shower faucet was leaking upon arrival in the room. Room cleaning didn't bother to replace the empty box of tissues, only left enough towels for 1 person. The fire alarm woke us up one morning. The provided "safe" was ripped off the wall. There was a hole in the ceiling next to the light fixture. The overall room was discusting. If you book on the internet you have to call the site you booked on to change hotels, they won't do it there so be forewarned. During the week stay we saw at least 6 other people complain about something with the hotel. I had this bad experience so you don't have to.

this place was HORRIBLE

this hotel is the PITS it's dirty, they don't give you enough towels,no clocks. the front desk was very rude.The so called free breakfast was a joke,there was only juice and coffee.The coffee was horrible!There was kids partying till 3AM in the morning, and sleeping in the hallways.It was the worst hotel I ever was in.Also they don't tell you there is NO parking you have to park 2 blocks away and pay $20.00 a day.You people SUCK....!

Security lock on door broken, hotel refused to repair it. No clock, no water glasses. Moldy and smelly. Had to pile up furniture to block the door in order to try to sleep. Hotel staff surley at best. Miserable experience! $20 charge for key and overcharged on bill. Wouldn't honor rate booked (even with documentation)at check out. Had to pay in order to leave for a flight. No place for women on their own.

Unclean Rooms and Rude Staff

I stayed at the Riande Continental South Beach Hotel for one day. I was so disgusted with the attitude and service of its staff that I decided to shift to another hotel. The hotel gave me the wrong information about its valet parking. I had a tough time finding a parking space for my car as the limited parking facilities of the hotel were already full. The room where I was put up was dark and dirty. The front-office staff as well as the housekeeping people of the hotel were rude and inhospitable. I'm sure people put up with its bad service owing to its great location. The hotel gives easy access to the beach and the convention center. But I refused to tolerate the pathetic service and moved to another hotel as soon as I could. I'd rather take the trouble to travel the distance to the beach and marketplace than put up with rude and incompetent staff.

Poor service and quality of room

Room and service was poor. Poor/non- working lighting in room. Bathroom VERY tiny! Only 4 channels on TV, which is different than stated on description (no cable/satellite service). Also, my credit card was charged prior to me checking in when my statement said I would not be charged until I checked in. Hotel really needs WORK!!! Poor condition (peeling paint, etc.) Service was poor (no one at desk, concierge/maintenance doing multiple duties and unavailable). Check-in/out times different than listed on internet website and when brought to staff attention they didn't seem concerned.

DARK DREARY- NASTY!

The location is great for this hotel-everything else is not.The windows were locked shut-they would not open for security reasons. Room was outdated, mattress looked to be 40 years old- dark dreary and dirty-paid for three nights but checked out after one-would not stay here for free-that's bad.
