Leave Expectations at Home for Pet-Friendly Hotel
Review From: editorialreviews@nextag.com, Jun 9, 2008
"This summer-only hotel has a lot going for it, but unfortunately, most of it is located off-grounds. In the lovely Hilton Head Island, it lies about a quarter mile from the beach and offers transportation to and fro from Memorial Day through Labor Day. For an extra fee, guests can get access to the Water Park.
Consider this joint more of a launching pad than a place to stay. The hotel shows much wear and tear, and cleanliness can depend on how motivated the service is that day, or that month. Pets are allowed, a great bonus for owners but not so great for others who may not appreciate the residual odors. Students on a budget (are there any other kind?) party here, and while they don't cause a ruckus, they can make a mess in the public areas.
Check-in, check-out, and breakfast are located up in the lobby building separate from the rooms. The food is largely continental with waffles thrown in, and busy weekends might result in a wait. The pluses about Comfort Inn itself are the pool, in-room microwave and mini-refrigerator, and friendly staff. Guests should make sure they're getting the best price so there are no regrets in that area, and try to book on less populated time periods. "
