When I go back I'm going back to CQ
Review From: Michele Newport, MI, Jun 9, 2008
My friend and I stayed for 2 nights over the St. Patrick's Day weekend and were thoroughly happy with our accomodations. We were 2 blocks from the Orange Line which we took to Midway Airport for only $2. This, in comparison to the $27 cab fare we paid to get to the CQ! The man at the front desk was SO helpful. From getting us a 2 twin bed room when we were booked for a Queen (he explained to us that the hotel didn't get that request from hotels.com but if we called within 24 hours after booking it they could reserve us the accomodations we required) to explaining to us how to get to the airport via the Orange Line, and to take the 29 State Steet bus to Navy Pier to the Flower Show. Our room had an incredible view of the river and was convenient to the Magnificent Mile though we ended up shopping along State Street. Just diagonally from the CQ was a White Hen grocer, 3 blocks away was a cozy diner for breakfast and a Marshall-Fields were we received a 15% discount card for visitors to Chicago. CQ turned out to be the perfect location. It was clean and comfortable, too. Going back next week!

could have been better
Review From: john grifs, Jun 9, 2008
Had requested a two bed accomodation for two adult men on business. Got a one bed room and was told that they might be able to fix it the next day but the one night we would have to do with a rollaway. It came right away but with no sheets or blankets. We found from the desk that blankets were hidden in a closet in the hall, but the sheets never made it. NOW to where to put the rollaway. The room was so small that with the rollaway in position there was literally 12 inches of walkway left in the entire room. I have had bigger accommodations at the Manhatton Y in the 60s. Next night we were moved to a more comfortable room, but with the foldout couch out you had to literally climb over it to get to the bathroom. The staff always had a look on their face of "uh oh, here comes another complaint." This would actually have been an acceptable situation for a single but two guys sharing, it sucked. The location is amazing however and no better pricing can be found...so if you are on your own go for it, but not with other people who do not want to sleep together!

will never recommend this hotel
Review From: Linda Turgeon, Jun 9, 2008
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding over the 17th & 18th of Sept. 2004. This was the most unpleasant hotel stay I have ever had. We booked a room for three people. We were told we would have a double bed & a pull out couch. That never happened. Instead we had a cot brought to our room. That was almost impossible to sleep on. Next we had 2 sets of towels, considering there were three of us that didn't work. We called for more towels and a rude person brought them to us. Then our toilet plugged. We called again and 'Plunger Man' came. He did his thing & walked out with whatever dripping all over the bathroom floors & the carpet. We were asked to use our towels for two days to conserve water. At the rate things were going I was hoping we wouldn't have to stay yhere two days. Next day we found room cleaning consisted of pulling up the comforter. I can assure you nothing else was done. To top[ this all off, we were charged $13.00 per night more than we were told. Iwill never recommend this hotel to anyone and I will tell them what it was like for us if asked. Regards, Linda Turgeon
