Cleanliness Not a Priority for this Hotel

I stayed at this hotel when I visited Newport during one of its jazz fests. I have nothing positive to say about this place as the property failed to impress me. The front desk clerk of this hotel was only concerned with his job and he didn't even bother to greet me when I went to check in to the hotel. I was shocked to see that hygiene takes a backseat in this property. My room not only had a foul smell, but its carpet and walls were also stained. I didn't bother to check the bathroom as I had decided to change the room immediately after entering it. Thankfully, the hotel manager agreed to my request and asked the hotel staff to show me some other room. The second room was vacuumed and it was comparatively cleaner than the first room. This room had a simple decor but had very uncomfortable beds. I didn't bother to complain again as I was suppose to leave the next day. I'll never return to this property and would suggest people stay away from it as it's very unclean.
