We should have known something was wrong when it took our travel agent MK Tours 4 months to get our documents sent to us. The resort was beautiful. We stayed in the Caribe. The staff was so-so. You would think they would know common English words, but they don't. I knew enough Spanish to get by, but still played charades most of the time. The only way to describe the food is different. It was not good and not terrible. The next to the last night we were there I ate something bad, not sure what it was. For the next week I had diarrhea. Luckily I got sick toward the last day. I was starting to get worried since it was not a quickly passing thing. I was not going to leave a bad review since for the most part the trip was what you could expect from a foreign country--no water, bad food, weak drinks,etc. Then I got my mastercard bill..... I was shopping in a gift shop AT THE RESORT and purchased 3 cigars, a baseball cap, and 2 post cards. The clerk told me it would be 65.00 American. I said that was too much, and of course he was willing to deal. He gave me a price in Pesos and said it would be 45.00 American. When I got my mastercard bill he had charged me 67.00 American plus a 1.34 foreign transfer fee. I guess I should have found out for myself what the exchange rate was, but I was not planning on getting ripped off at a gift shop IN the resort. Not Recommended
