Located in a busy area in Jasper, the Amethyst Lodge offers convenient access to the area's best sights. The hotel is 1/4 of a mile north of the railway station and close to bus stops so getting around the area is not a problem. There are a variety of shops and restaurants in the area as well as numerous bars. Nearby attractions include Jasper National Park, Jasper Park Golf Course, Maligne Canyon, and the Patricia and Pyramid Lakes. The hotel offers 95 guest rooms and two suites. Most rooms feature balconies or patios with views of the mountains. All rooms offer air conditioning and include cable television, coffeemakers, hair dryers, irons, and direct-dial telephones. Because the hotel is so close to the tracks, some railroad noise can be heard but it is faint. The more pressing concern is the noise from within the hotel. Due to the rooms' thin walls, sounds from other rooms can be heard. The hotel features meeting and banquet facilities that can hold 200 people. There is no swimming pool but guests can relax in the two outdoor hot tubs. Guests can also use the facilities in the Amethyst Lodge's two sister hotels also located in Jasper.
