"Waterpark a Highlight, but Service Can be Harried"

"The Americana Resort & Conference Center has some ambitious offerings. It oversees the indoor water park Waves, a spa, comedy club, theater, and a more than 16,000-square-foot meeting facility. For families, the highlight without question is Waves, where children have the run of 25,000 square feet dedicated to slipping, sliding, tubing, swimming, and lounging.
The downside is, with so many activities to monitor, the staff can be overworked and sometimes missing in action during weekends, school breaks, and prime seasons. Part of that can be reflected in unclean rooms or aloof desk service. Some parents have expressed concern about security and lifeguard monitoring. There have been reports of errors in room charges, even after accounting for the conversion from Canadian dollars: Travelers may want to obtain a printed price quote with a description of the room before arrival or when making any onsite room changes.
Recent renovations have improved the conditions of some rooms. The staff at Jack Tanner's Grillhouse has won praise for their attentive service.
The center is not particularly close to the Niagara Falls and the casino, about two miles away, so a vehicle may be required. "
