Central City Location on 15 Acres of Facilities
Review From: NexTag Editorial Review, Jun 9, 2008
With a convenient location in the
center of the city, the Addis Ababa
Hilton provides guests access to many
of the area's attractions. The hotel
sits across from the Foreign Office and
is near the country's many historical
sights. The National Palace is also
close by.
The 12-story hotel is located on 15
acres of land with vast facilities.
Recreational options include four
tennis courts (one lighted for
nighttime play), a squash court,
miniature golf, ping-pong, and a
thermally heated swimming pool. Guests
can also exercise in the fitness center
or run on the hotel's jogging track.
Jacuzzis and saunas with steam baths
are also available. The hotel can get
crowded at times because it offers
local residents memberships to use
these facilities.
Business travelers will appreciate the
hotel's many meeting facilities for
conferences and luncheons, and its
business center with five computers.
The hotel's large ballroom, with a
capacity of 1,000 guests, can also be
used for company meetings or banquets.
Guests will have little need to leave
the premises, as there are various
shops in the hotel that can accommodate
every need from clothes to groceries.
There is also a duty-free shop, a
newsstand, and a florist. The hotel
offers a variety of dining choices in
its five restaurants, three bars, and
one bakery.
The rooms are basic Hilton rooms with
all the amenities. The air-conditioned
rooms include cable television,
coffeemakers, mini bars, and hair
dryers. Only dial-up Internet access is
offered. Some rooms have doors to
adjoining rooms, and as such, noise
does travel between doors.
Overall, with all its facilities, the
Addis Ababa Hilton is an ideal base
from which to explore the city.
